Dive deep into the study of Aikido under the guidance of Jim Sorrentino, a martial artist with a distinguished career spending decades. His martial arts journey began in 1977 with uechi-ryu under Robert Galeone, earning him a 3rd degree black belt in that art. In 1984, Jim begin his study of Aikido with Mitsugi Saotome Shihan at the Washington DC Aikikai (now known as a Aikido Shobukan Dojo.) He practiced both arts actively until the early 1990s, when aikido consumed his life.
From 1999 through 2019, Jim served as the Chief Instructor of Aikido of Northern Virginia, sharing his knowledge and expertise with hundreds of students.
