This seminar will be conducted by George Ledyard Sensei, Aikido 7th Dan , a direct senior student of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. It will focus on identifying, practicing and instructing the mind / body principles which makes Saotome Shihan’s Aikido unique.
The content will be geared for dojo-cho or those teaching at their respective dojos. It is open to Aikido yudansha or advanced Mudansha by teacher recommendation.
This is training in principle rather than strictly mechanical technique and is therefore universal in application across Aikido styles. It is open to attendees of any affiliation.
The goal is to leave each attendee with an outline of the body / mind principles which allow one to do technique with “aiki”. A written lesson plan will be provided and by the end of the weekend, the attendee should have an array of exercises that he or she can use to practice and teach these skills.
Note: If you can only attend part of the seminar, please try to make it the beginning as the instruction will be progressive and sequential.
